Outdoor Weddings and Receptions on Lake Michigan by the Straits of Mackinac

You want a wedding and reception that your guests, friends, and family will always remember. Because it was Fun. An outside wedding by the water that's different, fabulous and entertaining for everyone.

The unique setting and private location of Lighthouse Point will make your wedding Charming, Enchanting and Captivating.

There is no other place like it! Don't take my word for it. When "The Knot Magazine" had to choose a picture for the cover of their "guide to destination weddings" book, they could have used a picture from anywhere in the world. The picture they chose for their cover however, was taken at Lighthouse Point. In my backyard. I don't even know how The Knot got the picture. But I do know that you can have the same exact picture in your wedding album if you want.

At Lighthouse Point we only do one wedding and reception per weekend. There isn't another wedding starting in 2 hours or several receptions going on in the rooms next door and down the hall. Your wedding is a Private Party on our private 18 acre estate for just you and guests to enjoy. The kind of Weddings that Movie Stars have. Your celebration takes place over a few days, so you can enjoy every minute of it, not just a few hours like everywhere else. The Celebration and Fun begins and ends on your timetable. This is one of the most important events in your life; you should have time to enjoy it.

Lighthouse Point, is our summer home, on 18 beautiful waterfront acres. It has a 165 foot Pier with over 1000 ft. of scenic Lake Michigan Shoreline. There are spectacular Sunrises and Sunsets, Incredible views of the Mackinac Bridge, St. Helena Lighthouse, passing Great Lakes Freighters and Lake Michigan.

The natural ambience of the spacious grounds will allow you to spend quality time with family, friends, and guests. This adds to every ones enjoyment and makes it less stressful for you. Your wedding and reception won't be a lost memory for your friends and guests like most. It will be a unforgettable weekend adventure of FUN.

When you combine the natural beauty of the grounds with your imagination and personal touch, Lighthouse Point becomes a one-of-a-kind place that you have created, it can be as exquisite or as casual as you desire.

Whether your wedding and reception is going to be with a few close friends and family members or a large celebration with hundreds of guests, Lighthouse Point can accommodate either.

One of the best things about Lighthouse Point is that the bridal party can stay in one of our 10 rooms in our 4 guest houses nestled within the pine trees and cedar forest that surround the property. Imagine the fun everyone will have being together for 3 or 4 days. When was the last time you sat around the campfire with your friends? That happens almost every Friday night after Rehearsal Dinner at Lighthouse Point. It's a good time and lots of fun.

After celebrating your spectacular wedding day your guests will return home feeling as if they had been on vacation. Your friends, family, and guests will be telling everyone about the wonderful wedding and reception they enjoyed while dancing beneath the sparkling stars, with the moonlight rippling off the water.

"It's so beautiful here. This was so unique and so much fun, it was just perfect" That is what everyone says. I know, I run the shuttle that takes your guests back and forth from the grounds to the parking lot. I talk with almost everyone as they are leaving. They think I'm the guy you hired to run the shuttle. They have no idea I own the place, so I get to hear all of the complements long before you will.

When the celebration is all over and all of the guests have gone, you and your new spouse can continue to stay at Lighthouse Point for your honeymoon. The 18 private acres of paradise is now just for the two of you to enjoy together. There are so many things to see and do at the Straits of Mackinac and Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The only charge for this is the daily room rate.

Plus, Margaret and I have a special wedding gift for the two of you. One night FREE at Lighthouse Point every year forever (well as long as we own the place) and it has to be in the off season or during the week between Monday and Thursday. But, you will always be welcome to return to where it all began for the two of you. This has become a tradition with some of our former wedding couples, we see them every year.

Most people don't know it but it takes less time to reach Lighthouse Point in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan than it does the reach Traverse City in the lower peninsula from the Detroit Metro area.

Within 5 miles of Lighthouse Point, there are Campgrounds, Marinas, and dozens of Hotels and Motels with thousands of rooms to accommodate your guests and their budgets.

Lighthouse Point is open for ceremonies from Memorial Day through the end of September for weddings up to 200 people. Call Jim or Margaret at 906-643-8621 or 810-923-8028 our cell to find out if your wedding date is still available. If it is, schedule a personal tour to view the property, rooms, facilities and amenities as soon as possible.

Remember we only do one wedding and reception each weekend. Available dates vanish.

PLEASE, respect our guests, their celebrations and privacy. DO NOT visit Lighthouse Point without first scheduling an appointment for a personal tour during our wedding season. We're happy to show you our place and give you all the time you need to ask questions, we know you'll love it. Sunday afternoons or Monday through Wednesday works pretty good for a tour most of the time. But, please schedule an appointment as we sometimes have several brides, viewing the grounds on the same day and we want to get to know you and give you our full attention. Thanks.

If it is past the end of November (winter) Lighthouse Point is closed until May. Margaret and I go to one of our other homes where it is warmer. Sorry we can't show you the place until early spring. But our pictures tell the stories of our past weddings all you have to do is add your imagination.

Go take a look at the Pictures of just a few of our past weddings.

The days are longer in the spring it doesn't get dark until 9:30 or 10:00 o'clock. In September the sunsets between 8:00 and 8:45.
