We are now taking reservations for spring, summer and fall weddings for 2013 & 2014.

Lighthouse Point is a private, unique and special outside wedding and reception site, there's no place like it for a Northern Michigan Wedding.

Your outside wedding ceremony will be an incredible unforgettable adventure, filled with Fun and Excitement that can only be found in Northern Michigan's Straits of Mackinac.

Some of  the unique and special things about outdoor ceremonies and receptions at Lighthouse Point are:

• Your Lakeside Wedding Celebration takes place over 2, 3, 4 or 5 days, all in one private place.

• That means everyone and everything is coming to you, you're not running from place to place to place, nor are your guests.

  Having everything in one place allows you the ability to enjoy everyone and every minute of your wedding and reception, not just a few moments here and there like everywhere else.

  Privacy ... Lighthouse Point is hidden away in the cedar and pine trees on the shores of Lake Michigan, just 4 miles off of I-75. But you would never find it without a map or directions. Google and Map Quest don't even know where we are.

• Up to 200 of your friends and family can attend your wedding and reception and up to 30 of your friends, or family can stay right on the grounds. We have 4 guest houses nestled within the pine trees and cedar forest that surround the property. 

• We do your outside wedding and reception only.  Just one wedding each weekend, we don't even allow potential brides & grooms to tour or visit if your celebration is going on, even though that would be much easier for us.

• There isn't another wedding starting in 2 hours or several other receptions going on at the same time in the rooms down the hall.  Lighthouse point, makes sure that your day is yours and yours alone.  We only do 14 to 16 weddings a season.

• Your outside wedding is on our private 18 acre estate with over 1000 ft. of Lake Michigan shoreline, for just you and guests to enjoy.

• A private 165 foot Pier reaches out into the crystal clear water of Lake Michigan.

• You get to choose the Vendors that you want to use.  

• There are Spectacular Sunrises and Stunning Sunsets over the Crystal-Clear Blue Lake Michigan Water.

• From our shoreline and 165 ft. pier there are unbelievable views  of the Mackinac Bridge, St. Helena Lighthouse and Island and the Passing Great Lakes Freighters. All are mesmerizing.

• Once it gets dark you'll see stars that you didn't know were there, and the Milky Way stretches across the entire sky.  The other night it took me 5 minutes to find the big dipper there were so many stars, and I know where to look for it. It's a "Priceless" setting as the commercial says.

• Dancing beneath the stars, with the moonlight rippling off the water.  Makes your outside wedding reception the kind you read about in Fairy Tails.

• Lighthouse Point can be formal and exquisite or as laid back and casual as you desire.  Sometimes it's both, exquisitely laid back and formally casual.

The campfire is where almost everybody ends up Friday after Rehearsal Dinner.  It's a "Memory Making Good Time" and lots of fun.  Can you say "S' mores."

How stunning and exquisite is the destination wedding venue at Lighthouse Point? When "The Knot Wedding Magazine" had to choose a picture for the cover of their "Guide to Destination Weddings Book," they could have used a picture from anywhere in the world. The "cover picture" they used was taken of a lakeside wedding that took place at Lighthouse Point.

After celebrating your spectacular outside wedding by the lake  your guests will return home feeling as if they had been on vacation.  The Straits of Mackinaw has so many entertaining and fun things for your guests to see and do.

Lighthouse Point can accommodate up to 200 of your guests.  It is open for ceremonies and receptions from May through October.
 
Some commonly asked Questions are:

Where can my guests who can't stay at Lighthouse point stay? 

• Within 8 miles of Lighthouse Point, there are 5 Campgrounds,  2 Boat Marinas, and dozens of Hotels and Motels with thousands of rooms to accommodate your guests and their budgets. 

What about finding a Caterer, DJ, Flowers, Photographer, Officiant, Cake Maker, Hair Dresser, Manicures & Pedicures, etc.?

• Once you have reserved your wedding date at Lighthouse Point we'll give you a list of vendors that will give you several choices in each category  which can supply everything you'll need. You are also welcome to use your own vendors.

What if it rains?

• That's why we have 3000 sq. ft. of TENTS with side walls.  In eight seasons of doing weddings at Lighthouse Point we have only had one ceremony rained out.  All the rest have been outside by the water just they were planned. Of course we always have a plan B.

• In the fall 2009 we created an inside venue that can be reserved"just in case you want some added insurance for bad weather.

Once you've had your wedding ceremony at Lighthouse Point you become part of a very special group of couples ... so Margaret and I have a special gift for the two of you.

• One night FREE at Lighthouse Point every year forever, well as long as we own the place.

• There are a couple of rules, You have to return either in the off season or any day during the week, Monday through Thursday, between May and October or on a weekend that we've decided not to have a wedding. Which we do every year.

The 2 of You will always be welcome to return to Lighthouse Point ... for FREE forever. This has become a tradition for many of our brides and grooms, they return every year to celebrate again.

Outside Destination Weddings and Lakeside Receptions at Lighthouse Point are all about having fun and giving you and your guests a unique, entertaining, and memorable experience.

At Lighthouse Point Everything for your wedding and reception is happening in one place.

Here's a sample of what Your wedding and reception will be like this if you have it anywhere except Lighthouse Point ... You're friends and family are lost, they can't find the church for rehearsal. Driving from the church to the rehearsal dinner a few of them get lost again. Just about the time everyone starts having fun dinner is over and everyone has to leave. Everyone has to separate and go back to their hotel. The fun stops and it's frustrating. Next thing you know it's your wedding day and you're late for your hair appointment. Then You have to run to the florist to pick up the flowers. Everyone is someplace else getting ready, after your ready it's off for pictures, probably somewhere that has nothing to do with your wedding location. Then before you know it ... you're rushing to get to the church for the ceremony.

After the ceremony you have to stay behind for more pictures, while your guests try to find the reception site. After they do, they sit and wait for you to arrive. You know what that's like, you've had to going through it at weddings you attended. It doesn't work like that at Lighthouse Point.

At Lighthouse Point everything gets delivered and everything happens at one place. There's no running from place to place, wasting time that could be spent relaxing and having fun with your friends and family.

PLEASE, respect our brides and grooms and their celebrations and privacy during the spring, summer and fall wedding season.

Please Do Not visit Lighthouse Point without first scheduling an appointment for a personal tour during our wedding season.

We're happy to show you our outside wedding and reception site. We'll give you all the time you need to view the grounds and ask questions, we know you'll love our outdoor wedding place.

Sunday afternoons or Monday through Wednesday works pretty good for a tour most of the time.

But, please schedule an appointment as we sometimes have several brides, viewing the grounds on the same day and we want to get to know you and give you our full attention. Thanks for understanding.

If it is past the middle of November (winter) Lighthouse Point is closed up and put away until May. Margaret and I go to Arizona where it's warmer.

Sorry we can't show you the place, all you can do in winter time is walk the grounds. Everything is all closed up. However our pictures tell the stories of our weddings and receptions. All you have to do is add your imagination and personal touch to have the lakeside wedding and reception you've dreamed of.
